Class Details
This course is designed for new and inexperienced special education teachers. Each participant will be assigned an in-district mentor as well as attend classes to gain knowledge, strategies, and skills to teach students with disabilities. The course encourages retention in the field of special education by providing learning activities and resources designed to improve proficiency in writing a legally compliant Individualized Education Program (IEP). Special education exceptionalities, special education law, transition plans, eligibility reports, and behavior intervention plans will also be covered.
