Course Description:

Literacy for Leaders is intended for K-5 principals, assistant principals, or instructional coaches who wish to strengthen their knowledge of elementary reading instruction.  The goal of these workshops is to provide information regarding the fundamentals necessary for a balanced learning in the literacy classroom.  The three day workshop will include topics such as the structure of a literacy class, reading comprehension, guided reading, independent reading, and conferring, as well as using data to inform text levels for students.  Attention will be given to the alignment of the TKES standards to workshop content with an emphasis on differentiation.

Class Notes:

Day One was in January.  These two days are the continuation of learning from the first day. The cost of the workshop covers lunch for both days.
