Course Description & Class Notes:

This session is for Math, Science, and Social Studies teachers in grades K - 2.

During the professional learning sessions with mathematics, science, and social studies teachers, we will walk through the 360Writing frameworks in the informative-explanatory genre that are specific to these content areas. The frameworks include:

1. Examples of brief writing questions aligned to a prioritized standard/element. 
2. Examples of rubrics related to these questions and the related standard/element. These focus mainly on accurate expression of content understanding.
3. Example approaches for guiding students through these types of questions to promote successful responses.
4. Example approaches for evaluating gains students make in communicating their content understanding through brief written responses.
 
In short, we keep the emphasis on using writing as a means of showing content understanding. 

Please note: Cancellations after the registration deadline will be charged the course tuition.

Out-of-RESA tuition is $85.00/person. Registration will be prioritized for Okefenokee RESA member schools.
